Retouching was my key to entering a career in advertising. In 2004, I was hired by J Walter Thompson (Alkhobar, KSA-Bahrain Operation) as a retoucher and final art worker. My main assignment was to assist art directors in realizing their creative vision. Eventually, I was appointed as an art director and retouching still was part of my duty.

Retouching was just a small part of my routine, but it's the most crucial since a badly retouched visual can easily cause a campaign to fail. My retouching area focused more on reconstructing a model shot. To achieve the desired pose, I often reassemble the body parts of the model from different shots. The reconstructed model is then composited with different visual elements and a background to create a complete visual. Much recently, I was also assisting our creative team in Egypt handling the Emaar Properties account in retouching real estate imagery.
